Baileys’ Chocolate Orange
Because it’s the holidays, you probably have lots of Baileys sitting around. I wasn’t a big fan of Baileys til the last couple of years when my boyfriend showed me how to mix it into things, and now I love it! We get bored pouring it into hot chocolates or coffees, so we make all sorts of fun cocktails with it when we don’t feel like drinking it straight either. Here are three of my favourite ways to drink Baileys, let me know if you try any!
Take about 50ml of Baileys and pour it over some ice in a tumbler. Add 25ml of Grand Marnier, and stir everything together until it’s combined. This stuff tastes so much like a chocolate orange it’s ridiculous, I love drinking it! To make it a bit fancier, garnish it with some orange peel, or rim the glass with graham cracker crumbs.
Mint-Chocolate Baileys
I’m not the biggest fan of mint and chocolate combined, but my boyfriend loves this and I do have to say even I can drink it without complaining. He calls this a grasshopper, but to me it tastes more like a shot I used to drink when I was younger.
To make this, you need to pour 45ml of Baileys, 20 ml crème de menthe, and 30ml of vodka into a shaker over ice. Shake everything really well, and then strain into glasses garnished with mint. It is absolutely refreshing, and if you’re feeling like adding a bit more chocolate flavour to this, using a splash of any chocolate liqueur you’re fond of will do the job.
Baileys’ Caramel Apple Cocktails
Take 50ml Baileys,25ml each of apple and butterscotch schnapps, and 100ml of whole milk, and pour into a shaker over ice. Strain the cocktail into glasses after you’ve shaken everything up really well, and serve. I like to rim glasses for this drink with cinnamon sugar or cinnamon and graham cracker crumbs.
