Come Be My Pen Pal

I was given the chance to review these iCustomLabel labels in exchange for an honest review.

I have been on a mission to find new labels to use on my snail letters for a while now. I knew what I wanted, but I couldn’t find a company that would allow me to create what I wanted within my price range. Lucky me, I ended up getting totally awesome labels due to my long wait.

I got exactly what I asked for and more. I requested my blog logo, my name and my blog’s website address along with my address on it. I also wanted this to be win-win situation for them too so I asked them to include that their information on the labels too. They also used the colors I requested. (At the time I ordered these labels those were the colors of my blog theme.) However, my blog logo will not change regardless how many times I may change my blog theme because I want everyone to start to recognize it.

I was so excited when they came in the mail. I couldn’t wait to put them on my envelopes. Considering I mail off snail letters each week this is a big deal for me. I am still a pen and paper kind of woman. Speaking of which, if you want to start sending me snail mail feel free. I do enjoy responding.

I honestly would enjoy having more people to write to each week. I can remember my mom use to get a lot of letters from her girlfriends up North each week, and I’d look on with envy at her letters like they were a grand prize. She told me, you have to write letters in order to get letters. My mom kept all of her love letters between her and my first stepfather from when they were dating, and I devoured them all up after she passed away. Handwritten letters hold a lot of value. It’s showing the person that receives them that they are worth you getting off of every piece of new technology there is and risking showing errors in your writing to give them a part of your time. To me, when I hold a pen in my hand it tends to open the wells of my soul even more than a keyboard on a computer does.

Now I get to send off those letters to those I care about each with in style. I know that these labels are well made and will last through the wear and tear of delivery in the mail system. Plus they will capture the attention of anyone who sees them throughout the letter’s travels.

I know I could use them on other flyers that I may create. I can use them on other things as well. In away, I feel like my options are endless.

  1. I have one friend that I still correspond with by snail mail. We sent greeting cards to each other frequently. I do love getting a letter in the mail, but I also like the instant access that technology gives us to communicate. Without e-mails, Facebook and texting it would be weeks before I’d know what’s going on with my family who don’t live near me.

    • I love the snail mail route a lot. However, I’m like you I have grown very accustom to having the instant notifications too.

  2. Those are cute labels! I really would like to write letters, it’s personal and I think it surprises people and makes them feel special.

    • I agree. I’d love to be surprised with letters in the mail. 🙂 I get excited when I get letters from my first stepfather in the mail.

    • Kelsey,

Then maybe you should take me up on my offer to be my pen pal. Granted, you hear a lot about me through my blog and vice verse, but I’m sure there’s more to us than what we post online. I’d love to get to know you more.

I like the labels a lot myself. I think they are really stylish and neat and well made.

  3. When I was in high school, many moons ago, I got a pen pal from England. Now 20+ years, later we still communicate, although it is now via Facebook. Much cheaper than sending things Par Avion.

  4. My daughter’s kindergarten has pen pals throughout the country. She and her friends are loving receiving all of the postcards from new friends. I’d love to continue the fun at home for her so that she can practice writing letters.
