#GiftReadyGuide for 2013 Book Suggestions

I’ve read a vast many books this year for review. I have enjoyed reading them. I appreciate that I get the chance to do that.

I have chosen to highlight the top ten favorites from the year my #GiftReadyGuide for 2013.

Top 10 Books from 2013

1.)  Home Run  This is a book about a man who has to overcome past hurts. He ends up handed a second chance in many ways to fix the things that went wrong in his life. He finds out how powerful grace is.

2.)  The Whale Tells His Side of the Story: Hey God, I’ve Got Some Guy Named Jonah in My Stomach and I Think I’m Gonna Throw Up! This is such a wonderfully cute story for kids to read about the story of Jonah from a different perspective. We LOVED reading this book with a passion. It is by far one of my favorite kids book.
3.) Can’t Wait Willow This is a cute little book about teaching children patience. I love the direction the author used in teaching kids what happens when they are not patient with how they spend their money.
4.) Prized Your Journey As His Daughter This is a must have book for any girl entering those preteen to teenager years. I gave it to my niece for her birthday. Granted she didn’t read the whole book (last time I checked), but she did enjoy what she read of it. I feel that in time she will pick it up and finish reading it. I feel any parent would benefit from having their preteen/teenage girl read this book. Even if you have to read it with them.  You can read my review for the rest of my thoughts on this book.
5.) Hidden Under  Her Heart  Not only is this book perfect for a Christmas gift, but it does go along with the Adoption Month theme of November. I’ve written about how I gave my first born up for adoption to her stepmother and my adoption of my oldest son.  This book made me cry, laugh, and rejoice in many ways. You have to read my full review to fully appreciate this one.
6.) Blueberry Bubble Gum  Oh how I remember this book. This book has been read and reread a number of times now. I imagine it will be read many more times in our family. This has become one of my boys favorite books. They’ve had to share with everyone who was willing to listen to the story. I have to admit even I enjoyed reading this book with them and listening to the many different personations of it.
7.) For Women Only  This is a book all women should read at some point in their life. Preferably the sooner rather than later option. I am a huge fan of this book, and feel that if you decide to read it you will be too. It is filled with many details that are worth knowing and taking to heart.
8.) NIV Homeschool Bible  I feel any person who attempts to homeschool their kids needs to start their day with this Bible. It is filled with many wonderful little lessons for us as Moms to read. I can’t stress how much of a difference reading this Bible makes to my day and that of my kids.
9.) We Laugh, We Cry, We Cook  This is a wonderful book filled with stories that a mother and daughter share with us from their lives. It is also filled with recipes that are definitely worth trying. It’s a nice vacation type of read because you’ll be itching to get in the kitchen to try those recipes. Plus it’s great to read with a great cup of coffee.
10.) Blaze of Glory Series  I have reviewed both the first and second book in the series live already. I have the third book in the series on my Kindle now and have read it. I just haven’t had the chance to do up the review on it. The complete series is a wonderful gift for anyone who likes horses and romance with a bit of drama in the mix.
I have not attached any affiliate links in this blog post. I wanted you to know that I truly love these books from the bottom of my heart. They have been by far the best books that I’ve reviewed for this blog for this year. There have been many other great books, but these have stuck with me long after I’ve read them.
Some of these books will be available in my grand giveaway that will go live on Saturday, November 23 thru Thanksgiving Eve.

I'm Crystal. I'm married to Dale, and mother to Johnny. Some might say that my life is perfect because I get to do all the cliché wife things like cooking, cleaning, and decorating - but there's more! I also have many hobbies including needlework (crochet), sewing, and reading. My son's education is important, so we homeschool him together.

    • You’ll enjoy them. I’ve got a lot of reviews that I could give you that don’t even make it to the blog. If you’re ever stuck on what to read, just shoot me an email of the type of book you’re in the mood to read and chances are I can give you a few suggestions! Lately, I seem to always have two to three books being read at a time depending on where I am located. That way I get more books read in a week because I only get to read in spurts.
