I’ve been given the extreme pleasure of going to see the new upcoming movie called Grace Unplugged with my kids and father-in-law (Del had to work) not to long ago. I won’t give you my review of this movie YET, but I will say that I’m super excited to be a part of this program.
In the film, Grace Trey is an 18-year-old singer who aspires to more than just singing at her local church, where the worship leader is her father—a former rock star (James Denton). With the help of her dad’s former manager (Kevin Pollack), Grace finds fame within her grasp, but must decide if grabbing the fortune is really worth letting go of her faith.
There are two books associated with this movie.
The first is from popular author Melody Carlson and is inspired by the upcoming film Grace Unplugged, starring Disney Channel sweetheart AJ Michalka.
The second book is a devotional entitled Own It! that mirrors the film by asking what it means to really “own” your personal faith rather than just automatically following in the footsteps of parents, friends, or other influencers. Best-selling authors Hayley and Michael DiMarco help readers understand what to do when faith meets real world challenges.
Though the film won’t be released in theaters until October, the books will be in stores in September. I got the pleasure of reviewing both of them. I haven’t had the chance to dig into both of them completely yet, but I assure you that I will! I have started on Own It. It is quite a great little devotional type of book. It makes a Christian really determine if they are owning their faith like they should be.
Have you read a good book or seen a good movie lately, please share it with us?
Disclosure: I did receive these books in exchange for an honest blog review of these books and hosting this giveaway. Note: I did NOT give my opinion of this movie YET. It is coming, but it is coming for sure!!!
I have seen Home Run and it’s was really good.
A movie I’ve seen recently is Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. My little sister has read all the books so she was really excited to see it. I really like it too! 🙂

The Letter Writer is a good movie.
Thank you so much for the recommendation. I just added it to my Netflix instant cue. I hope to be able to watch it soon if my unlimited Internet package ever works.
Jack the Giant Slayer is one of the most recent movies I watched and really liked! Although I didn’t really care much for the ending!
My family enjoyed that movie. I ended up falling asleep through it. 🙁 I like a lot more drama and/or action that that movie gave me.
We saw Epic and fell in love with it. It was the perfect family movie!!
I can’t wait to see that movie myself! I think we will all enjoy it too.
