It doesn’t take a genius to know that the minute leaves start changing colour, pumpkin spice wafts into every coffee joint in existence. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t always fond of pumpkin spice– I found it to be so cloyingly sweet and heavy that I’d avoid it like the plague. My best friend loves the stuff, though, and over the years I started to like it too. She shared her favourite pumpkin spice recipe with me, and I’ll share it with all of you for your fall shenanigans
It’s really fast to put together enough to last you a while, and I encourage you to do that. In a small jar, mix together 2 teaspoons of ground ginger and nutmeg, 3 tablespoons of cinnamon, and 1 ½ teaspoons each of ground cloves and allspice. That’s all you need to make pumpkin spice!
Sprinkle your pumpkin spice into hot chocolate, coffee (pumpkin spice latte, anyone?), cake batter, muffins, or even your cereal! One friend of mine likes to steam milk and sprinkle pumpkin spice into her drink for a warm treat before bed.
