I received this book in exchange for a book review blog post from the author. That in no way shaped my opinion of this book.
This is one of those self-help devotional types of books that really gets your mind rolling in a positive manner. Many of us are looking for ways to increase our leadership skills or gain some. This book gives a person a biblical practical way of doing it. I truly have believed that a person was either a born leader or they weren’t a leader at all.
I’ve Got Your Back: Biblical Principles for Leading and Following Well definitely nipped my beliefs at the feet. I was able to see that a person who may not ‘believe’ they are capable of being a leader is in fact able to do it. According to this book, everyone should actually take an active role of becoming one.
This book breaks down the different types of leaders in our lives. It also breaks down the types of followers we are all called to be. I have to admit this book made me really question the type of follower I am. I felt like I was having someone light a fire underneath my behind all throughout this book.
This book made me think about the Angus Buchan movie that I watched not too long ago. He stressed in the movie some very scripture that goes right along with this books teaching. He also expressed some of the same concepts as well. It’s almost like that movie was based on this very book.

The first half of this book is a fictional story about four people who all have different things going on in their lives. They seek out guidance from an older wiser Christian. Boy do they get it! I got it as well by reading their story.
The second half of the book gives all the biblical reasons and verses behind all the concepts that were mentioned in the story. I loved the way the author presented his arguments using a strong biblical background. I did find that I do agree with his logic.
