My Review
I enjoy Christmas music only on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I’m not a huge fan of listening to it for months on end. Usually I only like the fast-paced Christmas songs. However, I totally enjoyed “A Mary Christmas” This CD took a totally different spin once I had the pleasure of watching Mary J. Blige sing these songs on an HSN special. I didn’t even set out to watch it, but it coincidentally it was on TV while I was flipping through channels to find something to watch (which rarely happens.) So, I’m guessing I was supposed to see just how remarkable she is live.
I have heard her music before, but I couldn’t say I was a huge fan. I could just say I heard her in passing, but she wasn’t one of my top favorites. After reviewing this CD and watching her live on HSN, I can say I will be keep track of her music more closely.
I particularly loved hearing her sing “The First Noel”. I had a dog that we named Noel because I got her on my fourth Christmas, and she was my best friend until she took a bullet to save my life when I was 13 years old. That song has special meaning for me. Mary put a nice spin to this song.
Another Christmas song I love is, “Do You Hear What I Hear?” My mom and I use to sing that song together every year as she played it on her organ. It was hard to hear that song without having tears forming up, but it was still nice to hear Mary and Jessie J. sing it.

This is great!! Since having Eli I’m insanely in the Christmas spirit and have been watching Christmas movies non stop for weeks already this year! Music to add to the non tv time would be fabulous!!
Idk what my favorite song of Mary J is though. Probably Not Gon’ Cry or Family Affair 🙂
Favorite song: “Everything”. Mary J. Blige has a beautiful robust voice.
She definitely does have a beautiful voice. I have to fully agree with that one.
I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By is one of my favorites!!!!!
Those are both beautiful songs for sure.
I really like Everything
I’m confident she would love to hear that.
I have to admit that I don’t know any of her songs off hand. But I am looking forward to hopefully winning and checking out this Christmas music!

When I say the album is amazing, it is amazing…. I love the angelic jazz feeling Mary gave in some of the songs. My favorites are Little Drummer Boy, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, This Christmas, and even tho I do not speak French I loved…….. Petit Papa Noel, Omg she made me feel like I knew what she was saying on that song. The entire album is phenomenal. I would def. recommend people to go get it.
