We love our family entertainment movies in our household. I look forward to curling up with the kids and watching their kids movies with them as much as they enjoy them. I may not love all of their favorite series, but I do love cuddling with them while they are soaking in their favorite shows. Mind you, they don’t get TV time until 7-9PM usually on a few nights a week. (They do have TVs in their rooms, but they don’t watch them or use them every day.)
Series for the Kids
Series are always a big hit with me because the kids don’t get tired of watching them, and if it’s raining outside or they are sick they can watch several discs at once. Since I know how nice it is to do that on those types of days, I can’t argue with them when they want to enjoy their favorite characters.
[easyazon_link identifier=”B008XRE81E” locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Power Rangers[/easyazon_link] – This is always an action packed series that keeps all of my kids happy. They all pick their favorite characters and pretend they are them throughout the entire viewing session and BEYOND. I can remember this series even from my childhood.
[easyazon_link identifier=”B00RU9UHZW” locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Hey Dude[/easyazon_link]- This series is designed for the preteens and teenagers. To me it reminds of the Saved by the Bell series I was addicted to as a teenager. The only difference is it makes me think of the City Slickers meeting the country life. It’s filled with a lot of innocence bits of laughter. It’s not overly entertaining, but it’s enough to keep their interest.
[easyazon_link identifier=”B00SXBIIL6″ locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]My Little Pony[/easyazon_link]- Zeva is ALL attached to My Little Pony! She literally had to get underwear with My Little Pony on them. She gets EXTREMELY excited when we get a new DVD for the series. Don’t miss out on the chance to get their latest one My Little Pony Tales.
[easyazon_link identifier=”B008IG0FN0″ locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Transformers Rescue Bots[/easyazon_link]- Jimmy chomps at the bit to watch this series. He was excited to get the Return of the Heros. He enjoyed it as always.
[easyazon_link identifier=”B0062VL4K6″ locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Chuck and Friends[/easyazon_link] – Delbert LOVES this series. He got the pleasure of watching Day at the Races and as always watched it repeatedly.
Movies for Kids
[easyazon_link identifier=”B00O4ZC57I” locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Big Hero 6[/easyazon_link] – This movie is a MUST see. It was cute, funny, and inspirational all at the same time.
[easyazon_link identifier=”B00HLTDARS” locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]The BoxTrolls[/easyazon_link] – This movie is heartwarming and fun to watch. I love the message behind this movie.
[easyazon_link identifier=”B00MMUXQUM” locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Disney’s Planes and Rescue[/easyazon_link] – This is a movie the boys still talk about often. It is a planes version of the movie Cars.
[easyazon_link identifier=”B00UARSZXC” locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]The Legend of Longwood[/easyazon_link] – This is a good mystery drama movie for the kids to watch with you. I was surprised to see that my kids wanted to watch it again, but they enjoyed the storyline a good bit.
[easyazon_link identifier=”B00T73AP2Y” locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Maya the Bee[/easyazon_link] – This movie is an amazing movie. I love the storyline and the graphics are really enticing to look at.
Which one of these movies do you think your family will enjoy the most?
Thanks for the recos!
It’s getting so hard to find good things that kids can watch. I’ve even gone to the library to get old episodes of Mr. Ed for my kids. They thought i was so funny!
A good list I’m sharing w/ friends who have kids.
Hope you don’t get tired of me saying how much I love My Little Pony too.
Wow, homeschooling 3 children. You have your hands full Crystal! I don’t have children, so this list has passed me waaay by! In our house it’s MAN TV (docu’s, bikes, cars, bikes – you get my drift – ha) and costume dramas (LOVE!)
I’m pleased to see that you still left me a comment even though this post didn’t directly interest you right now. I hope you’ve taken the time to check out the other movie reviews we have on our site. We have plenty that may interest you. In fact, I’m about to post about the movie American Sniper (with a giveaway.) Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I hope to see you again soon.
