This book is perfect for parents to use if they are adding children into their lives. I wish I had it for when I was pregnant with Delbert. It would have been a wonderful book to read to Jimmy and my first born. Both of them also would have benefited from hearing this story when we were combining our families at that time as well.
This book does a remarkable job of expressing view points from both angles. Sometimes when a child/adult hears how someone else feels it helps them to put perspective on the situation at hand.
I loved the illustrations in this book too. It held my children’s attention. It also led to some heart felt conversations. It helped us cover topics of sharing, feelings of others, and being able to enjoy having a sibling in their life. We also talked about what it was like to have a sibling in our lives.
If you can’t tell, I highly recommend this book.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. I am so happy to read that after reading the book you and your children had coversations that covered so many important topics. When I read the book to children, we always talk about the same topics that you mentioned.
I am working on book #2 about Nico and Tugger (I am planning a series with them), and each book will continue to tell the story from both characters as one way to reinforce to children that there is always more than one way to look at a situation.
Thank you again!
Kimberly,
