I already told you in my movie review of Old Fashioned how excited I was to be able to review the movie. Little did I know how much reviewing the books in relation to this movie would be even more enjoyable. Of course, I didn’t even know there were books connected to the movie until I was offered the chance to do this review and giveaway from Flyby Promotions. I wish I had saved watching the movie until AFTER I read the books, but I was just overly eager to see it.
The Old Fashioned Way Reclaiming the Lost Art of Romance
[easyazon_link identifier=”1414379749″ locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]The Old Fashioned Way Reclaiming the Lost Art of Romance[/easyazon_link] is inspired by the movie. It’s a book that provides the reader with a forty-day journey filled with readings and questions for you to take into consideration. Even though I’ve been married for seven years this book still gave me plenty to think about and to take to heart. To me, it’s more about building up ALL the relationships you have within your life versus just those we may be dating/married to.

I was quite impressed with [easyazon_link identifier=”1414379749″ locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]The Old Fashioned Way Reclaiming the Lost Art of Romance[/easyazon_link]. Considering, I have loads of prior baggage that does weigh me down from time to time, it really was a book I needed to read. I believe any person who is seeking to improve upon their relationships will benefit from reading it.
Old Fashioned
[easyazon_link identifier=”1414379331″ locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Old Fashioned[/easyazon_link] is based on the movie. It’s basically the book version of the movie. I know the vast majority of all book lovers will tell you the book is always better. I believe that’s because we can envision our own characters as we see them. Plus, we can make the storyline fit into our own lives in a more personal way. Despite having watched the movie first, that still held true for me. It was still enjoyable to read the book.

Good Luck!
I have not seen the movie or read the book, but I think that chivalry is something the young men of today need to learn. I think my husband still has it, and he makes me feel so cherished by the way he IS so chivalrous day to day. That quality is so romantic in a man in my opinion.
It’s so hard to nail the movie when the book is so good, there are very few who do a good job at it. This actually looks good on both sides.
I got to review this on my blog, too, and loved it!! We need so many more people to be like this in today’s world. It seems that everyone feels if you get married and don’t get along, oh well – just divorce and try again. My husband and I are are celebrating 15 years in August and blessed to be together. It helps to have God lead you, work through problems and grow closer, instead of trying to run away!! Loved this story!
so nice to see someone talking about chivalry these days 😀
I cannot wait to see this film. I just missed your giveaway, but be sure, I am going to get this movie! Thanks for posting about it. So important this day and age to support quality movies.
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll have to check this out!
