I was given the chance to review the book Persecuted in exchange for an honest blog review. That in no way shaped my opinion of this book.
Persecuted is a story about John Luther, the one preacher that is well known throughout the US, who becomes the target of some harsh treatments after he makes a stand concerning his religion. His bold statement, “We know that only the Word of God can bring peace to the heart of the man. You cannot legislate the power of God! You can’t change your past, but Christ can with his blood! You don’t have the power to do it yourself. But if you surrender to God, he’ll give you power to change your life and shape your future. Jesus said, “I am the way.” Come to him now!” changed his life as he knew it.
This story is filled with many twists and turns and suspense. However, it’s also an eye opener book for those who believe in God and even those who are on the fence. This book is a clear indicator of what is ahead for believers.
There is going to be a time when God’s people are going to have to make a solid stand for their beliefs. They are going to have to face a lot of ridicule from others for their faith. In my mind, that time has already come. I personally am not making the stand like I should be. I haven’t expressed ALL of my thoughts on some of the things that are happening within our world even though I know I should be. I should be using my voice more.
I also feel like many Christians are failing to do this! We are literally letting the devil have a field day with our society and world today. We’re NOT making our voices heard over the voices of those who choose to not believe.
This book has really shaken me up to realize just how much we are turning our blind eyes and ears on. It’s getting to the point to where nothing is really safe to show our kids. We have to teach them early right from wrong. We have to ensure we’re teaching them about the Bible and God’s word. We need to show them right from wrong.
I’m scared about what our world has become and where it’s headed. If we don’t work together as God’s church we’re only going to see worse things happen!
Persecuted is also going to be in movie form in theaters on July 18th. I personally am eager to see this movie. You can tell from the preview just how much drama is within the book by the preview of the movie.

I think the world has become a very scary place and it’s going to get a lot scarier. We to have faith in God to get us through this…
So true. We have to make sure we maintain our relationship with God.
I think this kind of thing is quite possible in the near future, if we don’t start paying attention and remember what freedom really means.
I totally agree with this one. It’s flat out scary anymore.
i like that this book will make me think
It will, but in a good way.
