Signature Macaron Collection, 15 Piece
I have NEVER had macaroons in my life. However, I do have a large sweet tooth so I was more than willing to try them. I honestly had no idea what to expect when I got them. I was excited to be trying a new sweet delicacy.
I was a bit disappointed. Macaroons were definitely not something I was going to enjoy afterall. I thought they would be sweet and rich. Instead, they were soft, flaky, and they lacked a rich flavor. It’s amazing how we let ourselves grow to expect things to taste a certain way and when they don’t we are disappointed. (Please note this company did not advertise them to taste this way.) In fact, this is their description:
Featured in Oprah’s O Magazine, Sucré’s signature macarons have gained national attention and become a favorite to New Orleans locals. Their decadent signature flavors include pecan, chocolate, salted caramel, almond, pistachio, strawberry, hazelnut, and bananas foster.
The macaron, which dates back to France over 150 years ago, is a classic favorite of kings and queens. Sucré has taken this dessert so rich with cultural history and transformed it into their own gourmet creation. Delicate French macaron cookies are filled with luscious mousseline, that ooze classic favorites like bananas foster.
These unique macarons were handcrafted by one of the top pastry chefs, Executive Chef Tariq Hanna. Also named one of the top 10 chocolatiers in North America, Chef Tariq Hanna’s vision is at the root of all things delicious at Sucré! His gourmet signature macarons are just one of many of his brilliant masterpieces.
I did enjoy the almond and chocolate macaroons, but in the sampler I got there was only one of each of those flavors. The other flavors were not appealing to me or my kids. Del refused to try them because he doesn’t like macaroons at all.
Sucre’ did want me to share with you that you are actually able to make your own macaroons using their recipe. They feel anyone can make them and it’s a great family experience.
Also you can prepare to enjoy their Kings Cake from January 6th through until Mardi Gras Day. It definitely looks like a cake fit for a king. I look the way it looks like a royalty’s crown.
Sucre has a lot of different items to offer their customers on their website. I personally was hoping to get my hands on their Dark Lovers Collection and Seghesio Zinfandel . That looks like a set worth getting my hands on. I think it would be a perfect way for a woman to escape reality.
You can check out the items that they have available on their website. You can also connect with them on Facebook and Twitter.
Sweet Stackers
I got two of the 8*12.5 trays to review. Every December my family looks forward to me baking a lot of cookies. We always have a hard time finding ways of storing them because we don’t have a lot storage containers. I was eager to try them because I figured it would help me cut down on the amount of storage containers I have to invest in.
These were not what I was expecting. I loved the idea and the concept behind them. They work if you very strategically place the smaller pieces that I had to make in the right places. I was expecting everything to be made from the same hard plastic material. I also thought the pieces that separate the food would have already been made like they are in the picture.
It definitely makes saving cookies a lot easier. I love the fact. Especially since I do make peanut butter blossoms every year. I have to have a way to stack them nice and neat without fear of my cookies getting ruined. This product makes my life better because my cookies are not being smashed and destroyed anymore.
Despite the fact that the individual pieces that separate the food were made from a different form of the food safe corrugated plastic (the same material that is used for cake boards) I still feel this is a product worth having. I think if you are looking for a way to separate food when you’re storing it then you need to consider getting these Sweet Stackers for sure. I know I’ll be using mine for sure this holiday season and beyond.
You can check out the different sizes that are available on their website. You can also connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

I’ve heard that you have to have a taste for macaroons, and obviously I don’t much. The stackers are nice, but they just aren’t made the way I expected them to be. So, you’re not getting bad products at all. In both of these cases though, I was expecting a totally different experience.
