I was given the chance to review this 7 Minute Life™ Daily Planner from The 7 Minute Life as a part of being in Schoolhouse Review Crew, but all opinions and thoughts are my own.
When I received this planner I honestly was eager to dig into it and see how it would help to transform my day. After reading Flourish: Balance for the Homeschool Moms book, I was eager to dive nose first into doing these suggested activities to make my life easier in 7 Minutes a Day. However, after I opened this planner I was stumped by what I saw!
It was filled with loads of steps I needed to do, and I had to do a lot of reading to get started. This didn’t interest me one bit. Yes, I wanted to make improvements in my life, but I wanted to be able to do them quickly. Luckily though, Allyson equipped us with videos to help me out with setting up my 7 Minute Life™ Daily Planner. These 16 short instructional videos will take you about 30 minutes to watch, but they walk you through everything you need to do in order to gain the most from this jammed packed 7.3” by 8.5” physical planner.
Here is a short video overview of this program:
The steps that Allyson suggested we do are a bit time consuming. However, once you invest the time to do them, it does tend to make a lot of sense as to why she’s having you do them. It doesn’t seem like a bunch of time wasters.
Prioritize, Organize, and Simplify®
Allyson’s goal when she created this planner was to help the user of it be able to use these time strategies to Prioritize, Organize, and Simplify® their lives. She gives the user the tools they need to determine what tasks they need to complete in order to have the type of life they want to have. During her program, you literally clear your mind in a sense of all of the clutter it has in it.
How I Used 7 Minute Life™ Daily Planner
I don’t know about you, but I wake up every day with a long list of things I want to accomplish. Many times over, there are things on my list from the day before that I didn’t get accomplished for many different reasons. This little book helps me keep track of the things I wanted to do, but didn’t. It also gives me the chance to really work on those projects that I SHOULD be working on first.
I think the biggest thing I gained from this planner system, was the sense of the direction I want my life to go in. I know what my purpose is and where I’m headed now. I know my purpose is to serve God first and then secondly tend to my family’s needs and lastly build up our blogging career. I also love the fact that now I have a goal each day to complete five tasks that are going to enhance our life each day. Also, I take seven minutes of my day to make a connection with someone else away from the computer, and that makes me feel really good.
I may not have used every aspect of this planner, but it did help make me see that I needed to make some modifications to my daily routine. It did help with getting some order to my scattered thoughts.
Do I think it’s for everyone?
NO! There is a lot of detailed steps involved in making this planner work for you. For me personally I feel like there is a lot of soul searching involved. Unless you’re prepared to take a hardcore look at your life right now verses what you want it to be a 90 days or even a year from now, then you’re not ready to take on this planner. If you are ready to do the work necessary to change your life, then you will want to get this planner for $24.95.

I watched the video, and you’re right. I’m not there yet. I find it a little overwhelming to think that far ahead with goals and whatnot. I totally see the value in this though!
I can too. It’s an awesome little planner.
Sounds like a neat planner. I am not sure I am there yet to jump in, but I know their are a lot of people who probably would thrive with this!
It is a good bit of work, but I definitely see the end results paying off.
I could sure use some help planning but not crazy about the long set up. I know it would be worth it in the long run though.
It is worth it in the long run that’s for sure.
I always find that I am a lot more productive when I plan things out on paper than when I just “wing it”.
Me too! I have a list going everyday of things I want to accomplish.
This daily planner looks great. I’m sure it would help me get more organized.
It’s intense to get started and set up, but once you do it you’re able to see the benefits of using it.
I need something significant to change my life organization-wise, so it’s probably for me. I’m thinking about this one!
This one is an intense way of getting organization in your life. It’s worth doing, but getting the set up done is time consuming.
I love being and feeling organized, so this type of planner seems right up my alley. I enjoy marking down small tasks and fine details!
I do too. I have to do lists almost daily, and I love the feeling of accomplishment when I can put a line through the things that are done for the day.
