My father-in-law and I own our own trucking company where we do a wide range of local runs around our surrounding areas. My wife does blogging for a living. Plus we homeschool our three kids. We live with a hectic schedule at times.
However, I love the fact that we as a family pretty much determine what our schedule is going to be. If I know I’ve got a run that is only going to take about four hours for me to do altogether, then I usually have my family ride along with me. I love that fact.
My wife is able to take her computer along with her and work while we’re on the road. We can also get some of the kids lessons done too while we’re on the road thanks to being able to use Wi-Fi service. Literally we may have a homeschool classroom in our home, but that’s not always where they are taught their materials.
Plus my wife is able to gain peace and quiet and work while we’re on the road because the kids are happy to just ride along and check everything out by looking out the windows. They also enjoy dancing and singing to the music we listen to. When I turn on the comedy stations, we all gain some laughs together that we share repeatedly at various times.
I love this life. I love the freedom it gives us to be a part of our kids’ lives even while we’re working and earning money. It’s the best of both worlds. We are there to actually raise our kids. As long as I’m able to continue to have this lifestyle I plan on keeping it.
